Free registration is required to participate in our discussions -- it gives you more capabilities, and hey; the price is right. :) The more registered members, the more folks who'll be involved and the better board we'll ultimately have. Now, pull up a keyboard and get in on the conversation. (Keep reading for the real technical stuff...) HuntingBoards.com has put the following rules in place for the message board to ensure enjoyment by all users. Our goal is to make sure these forums are a positive experience for everyone. Users who continue to violate the rules of posting messages on the message board will be entered into a database of Banned Users. This information will include your IP address (a unique number assigned by your Internet provider), your login name and your e-mail, so we can track you -- and ban you -- even if you post under multiple names and/or e-mail addresses. So please play by these simple rules. Posting using someone else's username is strictly prohibited. The establishment of these rules have been given much consideration by HuntingBoards.com, and are designed to foster and promote a congenial and professional atmosphere in all of our forums. All persons posting in these forums should be treated with respect and in a manner which will create an enjoyable experience for all. Like dear old grandmother used to say, "Treat others like you'd like to be treated." -- pretty basic stuff. These rules are not contestable. If you have a problem or have caught something you feel is in direct violation with the rules of HuntingBoards.com, please e-mail mail@huntingboards.com with full details. The staff of HuntingBoards.com reserves the right to remove any post, topic or person for any reason we see fit. 1 No vulgar language or profanity - This includes inappropriate words, inappropriate sexual references and other vulgar statements. Some of these words will be automatically filtered out and replaced with ***, but there's no need to test the system. 2 No threatening, abusive or harassing comments. -- You can disagree all you want, but there is a line -- and it is not to be crossed. While we encourage lively debate, we will not tolerate personal attacks. Any person attacking another forum member, will receive a warning and have their message removed. Any future incident thereafter, will result in that member being removed from the forum. 3 No slanderous or libelous posts -- Knowingly making false claims about a company, organization or an individual is strictly prohibited. 4 No topics and/or statements which could be used to reflect poorly on hunting, shooting, hounds, etc. Anti-hunting and other posts indicating a stance against the hunting and firearm industry will be removed. Please do not post anything that could be used by "anti-hunting" groups to support their cause. Remember, it is easy to take comments out of context. Keep this in mind as you post, since anti-hunting groups may visit this site in search of ammunition for their feeble-minded cause. Example: getting too graphic in your description of the kill, etc. 5 No discussion or challenge to our editing policy are allowed within the forums. If you disagree, or want clarification as to why a particular topic, post or individual was removed, you must e-mail mail@huntingboards.com. HuntingBoards.com moderators, administrators and staff will NOT respond to any inquiries or challenges of these rules or decisions on the public forum. However, we will respond to e-mail inquiries. 6 No advertising or product marketing. No explicit advertising of commercial products. (also, no dogs for sale belong here - put those ads on Beagles For Sale Online) No mass sales of the same product. As a rule of thumb, if you're doing it more than once to make money, then it's commercial in nature. If you'd like to advertise on our site you can become a site sponsor and your advertising banner can be randomly run at the at the top of every page. Folks that use our board don't like to see advertising splattered everywhere. No free commercial ads. will be allowed here. An advertisement is categorized as an attempt to solicit business. Any such posts or signatures may be edited or completely removed. 7 Do not engage in "flame-wars" or excessive exchange of confrontational postings. Debate is important, but users should not try to "pick a fight." Keep the debate about ideas and don't get personal. No posts designed or taken by folks to be antagonistic. 8 Do not include HTML in your postings. Any mistake could make the remaining messages unreadable by other visitors. HTML can also be misused to link to inappropriate material. A misspelling or error in any html could cause problems with the server. We provide BBCode -- which is like html but safe for our board on a large scale. Feel free to utilize this code. There is a link on the page where you post to bring up the BBCode menu. 9 Linking -- Links to products and commercial pages will not be tolerated. This does not include your personal website that is in no way commercial, or if you're a small breeder -- the rule of thumb is that if you're intending to make a profit in the business that you're linking to, then don't do it. You may not link to any direct competitor or link to just advertise a product or service. We reserve the right to delete any link for any reason. See our advertising policy. 10 No spamming -- do not post the same message in multiple forums. Only post your message into the topic it most relates too. 11 Members are to respect the designated TOPIC AREAS when posting their message. This includes off-topic and sales information that does not belong in the Main Forum area. Those who post messages not relating to the topic area, will have the threads moved, closed or the posts deleted. 12 The inclusion of pictures within messages is allowed on this site. Referring to images on other sites should be done so sparingly if at all. This not only uses up bandwidth between sites, but often the images are copyrighted and protected by that site. Images or links to images are not to be included on our site without the express written permission of the owner of the copyrighted image(s). When posting images try to them under 320 x 240 resolution and under 20K in size. 13 Do not type messages in ALL CAPS. This isn't so much of a rule as it is a polite request. ALL CAPS typing is the equivalent to YELLING online. This is not only hard to read, but it also hurts the eyes, so please have some consideration for your fellow forum members. :-) 14 Communications that are meant for only one person (not the community) don't belong in the forums. Please utilize the provided Private Messaging system or e-mail for communications to individuals. The board gets extremely busy, and these type messages take up space (and push legitimate messages to the next page where they may not be seen. 15 Bumping topics to the top is prohibited. A topic should only make the top of the board on its merits; not because someone wants to see it there. Doing this selfishly pushes legitimately popular topics further down the page(s). Any replies solely to <bump> a topic will be deleted. Forum rules and guidelines are not up for debate. This is not a democracy, but rather a private forum. Anyone openly debating the rules we have set in place will be removed. Moderators of this forum are not to be argued with when enforcing forum rules and guidelines. Anyone arguing with a Moderator against disciplinary measures will be removed from the forum. We reserve the right to delete any message for any or no reason whatsoever. You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless, HuntingBoards.com and their agents with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your message(s). We reserve the right to revoke your membership to the forum or disable your posting ability for any or no reason whatsoever. We at this Bulletin Board reserve the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information we know about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you. If you have any questions about these rules or want to report an infraction of the rules, send us an e-mail. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us.
